Vincentian Social Enterprise Constructive Solutions Inc. to represent S.V.G Entrepreneurs at the MSME’s Inaugural 2017 Conference & Trade Exhibition

1-img_2266Vincentian Social Enterprise; Constructive Solutions Inc., Caribbean Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Livelihoods (CoESL) approved Preferred Partner (APP), has been selected by CoESL and funded by SBAJ through the CDB to represent Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises at the upcoming MSME Inaugural Conference July 19-21 in Jamaica.

The event, under the theme ‘Collaboration for Caribbean Sustainability’, will bring together stakeholders to discuss legislation, economic growth, financing, trade and investment, with the specific objective of shaping opportunities for regional small businesses.

John, who says “this is yet another great opportunity for the local non profit company to help in the promotion of Entrepreneurship across SVG by exposing their products and services to the regional market via our Award winning Biz-Hub Entrepreneurial Development Service”.We will collaborate with Vincentian producers and exhibit a variety of locally made products and services, which we have done successfully since 2013. To-date, we have been awarded multiple regional awards for best Quality, Best Product, Agriculture, Cultural Industries and Most Informative Exhibit.”

The Small Business Association of Jamaica (SBAJ), in conjunction with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, will be hosting the inaugural Caribbean Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (MSME) Conference from July 19 to 21 at the Hilton Rose Hall Resort in Montego Bay. SBAJ is CoESL’s partner in Jamaica.

President of the SBAJ, Mr. Hugh Johnson, said one of the objectives of the conference is to develop partnerships with other small businesses within the region.“As a Jamaican business person, I should be able to find at least five other business persons from around the region, whom I can (closely) interface with, because business is 90 per cent relationship and 10 per cent product,” he pointed out. “At the end of this intervention, we want to come up with a position paper from all the stakeholders from around the region as it relates to recommendations to get our leaders to buy in and to move the process forward,” he added. Mr. Johnson said the conference will also provide an opportunity for businesses from around the region to showcase their products and services.

Managing Director Dr. Marcia Brandon of the CoESL said that she is very excited about this conference as it builds on the CoESL’s regional Sustainable Development through Entrepreneurship bi-ennial conference series which brings together regional entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs, governments and international development organizations to discuss, exhibit products and services, research and innovate.

The Caribbean Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (MSME) Conference is being sponsored by the Jamaica National Group, RJRGleaner Communications Group, Flow, Development Bank of Jamaica, Spanish Court Hotel, and Caribbean Airlines.
